Many times when Guru Maharaj travels in with the Taca Airlines between Miami and South America, he uses to have a stop in Costa Rica in Central America. Also one of the last days of 2006, he had a short stop there. Last summer, right in time for the summer mela in Costa Rica, a new VRINDA centre was opened in the capital San José, for the happiness of Guru Maharaj and all the devotees. Hare Krishna prabhu has sent a short report together with some photos from this last visit of Gurudev.
Gurudev came on Wednesday morning, 27th of December. Caitanya prabhu and his family went to pick him up to the airport and he went to visit their temple in San Pedro, at Radha Mandir, where some other devotes also met with him. From there we went to Imlitala at Vrinda devi`s house, where Gurudev gave darshan to the present devotees. In the afternoon he went to visit a devotee at the hospital, and in the evening he gave a lecture at our VRINDA’s cultural centre in San José.
Early in the morning next day, we went towards a wonderful national park, Tapantí, in the province of Cartago. There we spent the day, surrounded by overwhelming nature, intensified by the sound of the powerful current of the Rio Maco. It was really a nice place, and Gurudev was so happy. We took prasadam and he gave a lecture there.
After that rejoicing trip we went to visit an ISKCON temple in Cartago. We bought some bhoga to give to their pujari for the Deities, and after that visit we returned to Vrinda’s house, and by the night Gurudev gave a lecture.
On Friday morning, before going to the airport, Gurudev spent a couple of hours with us, talking about the service and how we can be involved in his mission. And then the time had come for him to continue his trip to Caracas, carrying a Deity for the temple in Merida, Venezuela.
