Please, accept my respectful obeicances and let me share with you some experiences of the celebration of Gaura Purnima in Mayapur with our beloved Guru Maharaja - Bhakti Aloka Paramdvaiti.
The parikrama in Navadwip dhama started every morning at 5 am for all the missions and the big kirtans with mrdangas and kartals were being heard everywhere on the streets of the holy dham.
Every morning we had a lecture on the bank of Ganges in front of Sri Gopinath Gaudiya Math where the dolphins of the holy river were jumping in a beautiful way giving a lot of joy to the devotees.
We were visiting different holy places in the company of sadhus listening to Gaura katha. Some of the most interesting places we have visited were the Bhajan kutir of Bhaktivinod Thakur in Godrumadvipa, the place of Murari Gupta - an intimate associate of Lord Gaurachandra, Sribasangan and many many others.
One of the days we went to a beautiful trip by boat to Katwa in the Ganges and passing along the different islands we could see hundreds and hundreds of Vaishnavas who were taking bath and greeting us with "Hari bol!"
The devotees also had the opportunity to take darshan from many spiritual masters from different Maths - Santa Maharaja, B.V. Puri Maharaja, B. B. Tirtha Maharaja and many others. They were giving lectures in their temples every evening and many people went to listen to them.
It is melting the heart to see the pure land of Nitay and Gauranga and the mentality of the Dhamvasis - the residents of Navadwip, who are offering their dandavats to every Vaishnava, offering prasadam and begging for the prasadam remnants of the devotees.
Guru Maharaja was meeting with many spiritual leaders of the Gaudya Maths sharing plans and ideas about the unity of the Vaishnavas and continuing the spread of the World Vaishnava Association.
The beautiful moon on the Gaura Purnima day put the devotees in a romantic mood on the bank of Ganges, around the night fire, sharing thoughts about Sri Gaurachandra.
Nitay Gaura Hari bol!
