The life of Maharaj was a life of a very realized soul. He was sad to see everybody suffering, and happy to see them advance spiritually. Often he invited others to chant the Holy names of the Lord together in the streets of the cities. His chanting touched the hearts. He lived in the service of God (Krishna) with full happiness. He made austerities with compassion for others.
The violence of Colombia motivated Harijan Swami; very often in his talks, he turned to the groups and expressed his disgust for the violent acts in name of a new alternative. He explained the law of Karma as the cause of all misery. His wisdom offered spiritual alternatives: “Understand God as the proprietor of all”. “Do not shed blood of the animals, innocent beings, in order to avoid human bloodshed”. “Educate the Colombians on base of the laws of God”. “The true human civilization is based on knowing who God is, what his laws are, and how to obey to them”. An education financed with income from alcohol, trust in religious hypocrites and materialistic atheists cannot produce honest citizens.
