Dear Vaisnavas,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
The last Sunday in September was a memorable day; it was the day of the pre-inauguration of the first Yoga planetarium in the world. This giant project was initiated several years ago by Srila B.A. Pramadavaiti, and is the fulfilment of the vision of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Sridhar Maharaja. The great inaugurations will be in May 2004, however, everything is almost ready, and therefore a pre-inauguration was held in September this year.
The planetary is built in the area Eco Truly Park, which is situated by the sea, near Chancay, 63 kilometres north of Lima, Peru. Many people, interested and curious, came for this inauguration; many devotes were there, families, representatives from newspapers and television and from different cultural groups. Some came there by their own, but many came in the six chartered buses from Lima - altogether around 400 persons came for this event.
Everyone was welcomed with prasadam at the arrival to the Eco Truly Park. After this, tours were arranged in the park, and one could see the construction for desalinating, the recycling system, the ecological plantations, sun and wind power stations, and of course all the impressing and beautiful buildings, that have their own story to tell. Here was also a lot of beautiful art to enjoy and meditate on, like stained-glass windows and yantras.
After the tour, there was a nice program in the planetary, where the temple is central. Guru Maharaj told about the project and presented some of the persons who had contributed in this project, and several speeches were held. There was also beautiful Indian dance, music, and later a fire ceremony with wedding and many initiations. After this program, the joyful feast continued with prasadam for everyone, and the sun was already setting when the buses returned to Lima.
