Jesus and His message of universal love

By Srila Atulananda Acarya,

Let’s hope that on the day of Jesus, more than one soul remember him and not give most attention to the ridiculous Father Christmas. Who will give a present to Jesus? Who will sing to him on his altar?

The truth is that it is not known exactly the date when Jesus came to the world. It is little that we know about His historical being, but more important is the message that he came to deliver, and even more important than this message (because in reality He never came with something different from what other masters already had given) is the form in which He told this message, being a living example.

Jesus has shown the power of love, and He became immortal because He was such a great example. It is a pity that there are so few people following him. Many people repeat the name of Jesus, but they are not vegetarians; they even do not admit that the animals have a soul, and in reality not themselves also, because they do not live for the good of the soul. It is not easy to follow a pure devotee of God. Many people say that they are waiting for Jesus to come back, but they do not see that Jesus represents an eternal and universal message of love for God, and wherever this is transmitted, there is also Jesus. Jesus is a state of consciousness of God; of pure delivery to the Lord. Therefore he is a master till these days; he is the pure current of the truth which passed through him in his time. Today the sincere soul should look for Christ’s representative, the guru who will guide him to the pure love of God.

Only those who are essentialists can understand these things, and it is not easy to be that. The truth cannot be closed in an institution or race or belief, only in the heart of the pure devotees. Therefore we take advantage of this date to remember and thank our first master who talked about God, of the importance of serving, to pray to him for chanting His name and the fundamental – to obey to His will to the last consequences. Jesus has given one of the greatest examples in this respect, even though in all epochs many surrendered souls also have given their examples, and thanks to them they have become true lights on the ocean of faith. Thus, remembering Jesus, we also remember all the genuine gurus who have illuminated us on our way, as all form a same family dedicated to bring us to God.

Those who feel in their hearts the desire to love God, can understand these things, but the others remain entangled in the external and become enemies of the pure religion. We have already suffered a lot because of these false exhibitors of religion; they have caused great damage to the whole world and to the religion. Krishna saves us from their fanatic and blunted minds. Let’s hope that on the day of Jesus, more than one soul remember him and not give most attention to the ridiculous Father Christmas. It is a great sadness to see how this day, which should be so sacred for the Christians, has become more and more profane each year. Who will give a present to Jesus? Who will sing to him on his altar? Just a few people are doing it! But we shouldn’t be surprised, this is the effect of Kali yuga. Well the devotees of Krishna, they certainly do celebrate and sing your glories in your divine and wonderful eternal and progressive immortality.

Jay, happy Christmas!
